In NJ, after listening to testimony provided by a NJ medical cannabis patient and his medical practitioner, the judge overseeing the case, agreed that for this patient medical marijuana is indeed medicinal and should be covered by his insurance company.
This ruling could potentially set a future precedent for others to follow. This is about public health, not reefer madness. Patients should be able to use their medicine without fear of prosecution. Parents should have access to life saving medicine for their children. Veterans should be able to come home from combat and use the medicine they need without having to fear they will be prosecuted.
Listen to nurses on the front lines fighting for proper education and best practices for our patients. Thank you American Cannabis Nurses Association President Carey Clark and ACNA member Kristen Wohlschlagel for your endless advocacy.
"The benefits of evidence-based medicine, when properly applied, are obvious. We can use test characteristics and results to make better diagnoses. We can use evidence from treatments to help people make better choices once diagnoses are made. We can devise research to give us the information we are lacking to improve lives. And, when we have enough studies available, we can look at them together to make widespread recommendations with more confidence than we’d otherwise be able."
